Changing plans, invoices, cancelling

Everything lives in Settings → Plan & usage, on any site, because that is where the decision is made.

  1. Settings → Plan & usage, then pick a plan and an interval.

  2. You are sent to Stripe Checkout. Promotion codes are allowed.

  3. If your account has never had a subscription, a 14-day trial is applied automatically — no card is charged until it ends.

  4. Stripe returns you to the app, the webhook lands, and the plan takes effect. The gated screens unlock immediately.

Without a Stripe secret key configured, the same flow runs through the built-in sandbox instead, writing the same rows without charging anything.

Pick another plan from the same card, or use Stripe’s own customer portal — Manage billing — which also holds the payment method and the invoice history.

The plan you are entitled to is resolved as the newest subscription that has not been canceled, so an upgrade takes effect as soon as its subscription row exists. A downgrade takes effect the same way.

The Invoices card lists receipts newest first, with the number, status, amount due, amount paid, currency, and links to the hosted invoice page and the PDF. Receipts are also emailed to the billing address on the account.

Statuses are Stripe’s: draft, open, paid, void, uncollectible.

A subscription in past_due keeps the plan. A failed card is a dunning problem, not a reason to take the dashboard away mid-month. The plan card shows a Past due badge and, where there is an open invoice, a way to settle it.

Statuses that stop entitling the plan: unpaid, incomplete, paused, canceled. Any of those, or no subscription at all, is Hobby.

Cancel at period end. The subscription keeps running until the period you have paid for ends; the card shows Cancels at period end and the date. Nothing is lost before then, and Resume subscription puts it back.

At the end of the period the account falls back to Hobby:

What happens Detail
Goals, funnels and retention Locked. The definitions are not deleted
Sites Existing sites remain; collection pauses after the account reaches Hobby’s 10k monthly allowance, and you cannot create a new site past the limit of 1
API keys Stop working — the API is a paid feature
Collected data Not deleted by the downgrade
Retention entitlement Drops to the Hobby window
  • 14 days, once per account, on Pro or Business.
  • Offered only to an account that has never had a subscription of any kind — including a cancelled one.
  • A trialling subscription entitles the full plan.
  • The plan card counts the days left.

Set on the account and defaults to your sign-in email. It is where Stripe sends receipts.
